Who We Are

New Dream…..changes the game.  New Dream is a program for returning citizens who are on parole or probation and for those family members who have been impacted by the justice system. New Dream helps students transition into college. Our program will be tailored to the individual needs of our students. New Dream students have many pathway options including: Certificate/Associate Degree, Job Readiness Preparation, Cross Enrollment, and/or Transfer to four year college/university.

COVID-19 and New Dream Services Due to campus closures regarding COVID-19 the New Dream program will be moving all support services online and updating our webpage as we gather more information. Online/remote counseling appointments are now available through ZOOM. Online ZOOM Appointments can be scheduled by clicking the online scheduling link here https://esars.peralta.edu/esars/coa/coa.new-dream/eSARS.ASP .You will be emailed your Zoom Counseling Appointment details along with the ZOOM meeting link. New Dream literally saved my life. After 20 years of Incarceration, I had no clue what I was going to do. New Dream accepted me as I was and helped me enroll in the College of Alameda (CoA). Now I have graduated from the ATLAS program with a certificate which helped assist me with getting employment. I am concurrently enrolled in CoA and UC Berkeley to obtain my B.A. for more stable employment. New Dream. has helped coach me to secure my own place in the world. Now I’m in pursuit of starting my own business. New Dream is the way to go.
