SUMMER SEMESTER - RECOMMEND 3 ACADEMIC UNITS, INCLUDING WEIGHT TRAINING & VOLLEYBALL
FALL SEMESTER - 14 ACADEMIC UNITS, INCLUDING INTERCOLLEGIATE VOLLEYBALL & CONDITIONING CLASSES (Recommend all academic courses be taken between the hours of 8:00am-12:30pm to not interfere with team travel.)
SPRING SEMESTER - 15 ACADEMIC UNITS, INCLUDING WEIGHT TRAINING & VOLLEYBALL CLASSES
NEW STUDENT-ATHLETES: BEFORE YOU CAN REGISTER IN ANY ACADEMIC COURSES, you must complete the following steps below.

The College of Alameda abides by the provisions of the California Community College Athletic Code as well as the specifications imposed by the Bay Valley Conference (BVC) and the Calfornia Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). The nature of these requirements are very exacting. Athletes are advised to become thoroughly familiar with the requirements to avoid loss of eligibility. A copy of the State Athletic Code is on file in the office of the Athletic Director.
CURRENT COLLEGE OF ALAMEDA STUDENT-ATHLETES: To be eligible for intercollegiate competition: Freshman must be enroll in a minimum of 14 academic units, including the intercollegiate volleyball course.
If you competed during your freshman year, for your sophomore year, you must have passed a total of 27 units prior to the 2nd season with a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.5.
TRANSFERRING STUDENTS FROM ANOTHER CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE/4-YEAR COLLEGE WHO COMPETED ONE YEAR: IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE YOUR 2ND SEASON OF VOLLEYBALL AT THE COLLEGE OF ALAMEDA, you must have completed 15 academic units where you last competed and 15 academic units at the College of Alameda.
*****ALL STUDENT-ATHLETES (FRESHMEN OR TRANSFERRING IN) MUST COMPLETE THEIR 2-YEAR STUDENT EDUCATIONAL PLAN (SEP) BEFORE PRACTICING. SEE HECTOR CORRALES, ATHLETIC ACADEMIC COUNSELOR IN THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE.*****
