The College of Alameda’s Welcome Center is located on the first floor of the A Building and includes the following departments: Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, Counseling, EOPS, and Student Services Administration.



 Spring 2017 : Semester Dates  January 23 – May 26, 2017

Business Hours  (Peak Schedule)

All Student Services will be open from 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM on January 17-19 and 23-26th, 2017

Additional Extended Hours (Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, Welcome Center and Counseling) will be open on the following days:

Saturday, January 21 & 28, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM


Monday from 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Tuesday – Friday from 8:00-4:30 PM

NOTE: Counseling may stop accepting students 1 hour before the Welcome Center closes.

College of Alameda will be CLOSED on the following:

  • January 16, 2017 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – Holiday Observance
  • February 17 – Lincoln’s Birthday Day – Holiday Observance
  • February 20 – Washington’s Birthday – Holiday Observance
  • March 31 – Cesar Chavez Day -Holiday Observance
  • May 19 – Malcolm X Birthday – Holiday Observance
  • May 29 – Memorial Day – Holiday Observance

Important Dates to Remember:

January 23 Monday Spring Semester Begins
February 5 Sunday Last Day to Drop Regular Session Classes and Receive A Refund Note: Short-term and open-entry classes must be dropped within 10% of the first class meeting to receive a refund. 
February 5 Sunday Last Day to Add Regular Session Classes
March 17 Friday Last Day to File Petitions for AA/AS Degree/Certificate
May 1 Monday Last day to Withdraw from Regular Session Classes and Receive a “W”.  All outstanding fees are due even if classes are dropped on this day.
May 1 Monday Attendance Verification Day – Instructors Verify Enrollment
May 26 Friday Spring Semester Ends
