Student Employment Opportunities

Welcome and thank you for your interests in working in the Office of Student Activities at College of Alameda. Student workers contribute to the department mission through various paid positions that involve assisting with: campus safety efforts, event management, food services and marketing campaigns. We are looking for ideal team players that can contribute a quality set of skills, talents and intellect to join the department and help us meet our performance and safety goals!

  • Class schedule
  • Hours of availability

The Ideal Student Worker

The Office of Student Activities is looking to hire student workers whom:

  • Have the ability to share credit with others and defines success collectively rather than individually
  • Are self-motivated and consistently look for opportunities to contribute to the team’s success
  • Use good judgement and common sense when interacting with people


To be eligible for Student Work employment, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be admitted and enrolled as a part-time or full-time student in the Peralta Colleges
  • Maintain a minimum of six (6) semester units in the Peralta Colleges throughout the fall and spring semester of employment
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be “in good standing” with the District
  • Be not currently employed within the Peralta District as a short-term, temporary employee, adjunct faculty or in any other employment category, except Student Trustee
  • Pass the appropriate background check
  • Have an understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
