Student Activities Student Learning Outcomes

Student Activities and Student Leadership and Development have identified the following Student Learning Outcomes for students who utilize Student Activities services:

  1. Analyze obstacles to community college student success and examine strategies and resources to overcome obstacles
  2. Formulate personal awareness of opportunities to create change
  3. Demonstrate leadership skills and a sense of empowerment
  4. Students will set goals and action plans for advocating for student needs and for improving campus life
  5. Celebrate cultural backgrounds and examine the relationship of cultural experiences and educational attainment
  6. Increase academic skills that are essential for educational success such as note-taking, time management, public speaking, and critical analysis
  7. Increase the persistence and retention rates of students involved in Student Activities


Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) may be assessed through the following methods:

  • Surveys
  • Questionnaires
  • Review of collected data, and
  • Other methods
