President’s Welcome

On behalf of the faculty, staff, and administration, it is an honor and a pleasure to welcome you to College of Alameda (COA). The entire college staff is available to support your academic goals and ensure that your stay at COA is your best possible educational experience.

Our comprehensive array of programs and services are innovative and responsive to the needs of our diverse student population. We are an exceptional institution with thriving student-centered learning communities, extensive distance education, and online courses as well as premier career and technical programs. We at College of Alameda have rededicated ourselves to the concepts of a learning-centered college whose goal is to support your success.

Integral to these efforts is revamping our college’s web pages to provide ease in navigation and greater access to college activities and services. Also, the college is embarking on major renovations that include: upgrading our classrooms with the latest smart technologies, and esthetic improvements in our outdoor landscape, equipment and classroom furniture. As part of our strategic facilities plan instructional buildings C & D will be demolished and plans are underway to build a new building with an estimated completion date of 2014. All these projects are funded by voters in support of the Measure “A” bond initiative.

So whether you plan to transfer to a university, want to acquire technical skills for entrance or advancement in your employment, have a desire for educational enrichment, or want to develop foundational skills necessary to enter a field of your choice, our outstanding array of academic programs will meet your needs.
