New Administrators Join College of Alameda

Academic support areas, such as library, tutorial, and learning communities were part of his administrative portfolio. Before entering administration he was a faculty member in Spanish and department chair of foreign language and literatures at California State University, Chico. Dr. Miller will begin his role at CoA January 8, 2018.

Interim Director of Workforce Systems, Trudie Giordano

Ms. Giordano has several years of experience in workforce systems as well as recent professional experience working with the Adult Education Block Grant in Contra Costa County. She brings with her the unique experience of working in the workforce world as well as within the community college educational system thus being able to bridge both worlds.

Director of Student Activities and Campus Life, Aja Butler

Ms. Butler has worked in Student Life for the past several years and currently serves as the Director of Student Life at Delta Community College. She is very student centered and has excellent experience creating a dynamic student life environment for students.

Associate Dean of Educational Success, Paula Armstead

Ms. Armstead has been appointed to a permanent position after serving for over a year as Interim Associate Dean of Educational Success. She has provided excellent leadership in working to expand and solidify Adult Transitions as well as relationships and curricular offerings with community based organizations as well as local high schools and adult schools.
