Women's Volleyball Information

 If you are interested in playing on the Cougar women's volleyball team, please contact Coach Thompson at:   Office (510) 748-2383 ext. 2 or Cell (510) 388-6185 or email lthompson@peralta.edu

  • Enroll On-Line at www.alameda.peralta.edu
  • Fill out Financial Aid Forms at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov  If you need further information, call Financial Aid Services at (510) 748-2184.
  • Take the Assessment Test for English and Math. An application for admission must be filed with the admissions and records office prior to taking the assessment test. Contact the testing center (510) 748-2307, 748-2315 to make arrangements. Note: There are some exemptions, please contact the testing office for qualifications.
  • Meet with an Academic Counselor – Call (510) 748-2381.
  • Register for classes – There are certain weeks throughout the year to register. The course catalog provides the necessary information.  Call Admissions (510) 748-2228, 748-2225, 748-2227.

The College of Alameda abides by the provisions of the California Community College Athletic Code as well as the specifications imposed by the Bay Valley Conference. The nature of these requirements are very exacting. Athletes are advised to become thoroughly familiar with the requirements to avoid loss of eligibility. A copy of the State Athletic Code is on file in the office of the Athletic Director.

 

CURRENT COLLEGE OF ALAMEDA STUDENT-ATHLETES:  To be eligible for intercollegiate competition, if you are a incoming freshman, you must be enrolled in a total of 9 academic units and the intercollegiate volleyball course 3 unit course (a total of 12 units).

 

You may attend any of the Peralta Colleges, however, you must be enrolled in the College of Alameda intercollegiate volleyball course.

 

If you competed during their freshman year, for your sophomore year, you must have pass a total of 24 units prior to the 2nd season with a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0.

TRANSFERRING STUDENTS:  IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE A 2ND SEASON OF VOLLEYBALL AT THE COLLEGE OF ALAMEDA, you must have completed 12 units at the college where you competed and at least 12 units at the College of Alameda during the Spring Semester  (prior to being eligible for the Fall Semester volleyball season).
